All the Fun of the Fair | Brides the Show 2016

03/10/2016 / Team twobirds

Drawing inspiration from the excitement of a 1930’s travelling circus, this year Brides The Show was filled with feathers, ruffles, frills and sparkles, with the catwalk showcasing some of this seasons’ most exquisite pieces from some truly incredible designers.

The Brides team had chosen “Circus” as the theme for Brides the Show this year and we had so much fun decorating the ceiling of our stand to look like a Big Top with layers and layers of tulle drapes and a stunning floral chandelier by Blue Sky Flowers.

Over the course of the weekend, we were able to wander around the floor, staring in awe at the spectacular floral displays by Aesme and Ricky Paul Flowers whilst discreetly drooling over the incredible cakes from Georgia Bakes and Immaculate Confections (to name a few). We loved the subtle shimmers of the bohemian bridal gowns at Katya Katya Shehurina and the decadent embroidery and detailing from Halfpenny London and Hermione de Paula.  Not to mention Suzanne Neville’s stunning creations, Charlie Brear’s gorgeous gowns and so much more!

As we nibbled on pretty pink candyfloss and cookies, we could hardly contain our excitement as we sat down to watch Bryony Toogood’s Circus themed catwalk show, excited to see two of our very own creations take the stage.  This year, we presented two bespoke twobirds gowns and we’re totally thrilled with the reaction they received.

This bespoke blush ballgown was created to celebrate our 5th birthday and incorporates all of our collections.  This sumptuous gown was created in house by team twobirds and is adorned with layer upon layer of tulle and hand stitched chiffon rosettes while retaining twobirds’ signature multiway straps.

Following the Circus theme we also created a bespoke tulle ballgown with ruffled sleeves and a peplum skirt detail.

The stunning collection of gowns on the catwalk was totally jaw-dropping.  We didn’t think Bryony could top the Secret Garden catwalk show last year but she excelled herself once again with a fabulous show.  We can’t wait to see what’s in store for next year…
