THE DRESS 

Are the dresses sized? 

Our dresses come in just two sizes per collection: Our Classic & Rosette collections come in size A which covers a UK4 - 16 and B which covers a UK18 - 24. Our Tulle collection comes in size A covering a UK 4 - 14 and B for UK16 - 20.  A size chart for our optional matching bandeau tops can be found here.

Can I wear a bra with the dress? 

Yes you can but more often than not you don’t need to, our dresses are surprisingly supportive and with the addition of stick on cups, nipple covers or a convertible bra, a lot of girls take the plunge!  Here is some guidance on the best wrap styles for bigger busts. However, should you want to wear a bra, there are a number of ways you can do it here.

Will I be able to tie the dresses myself? 

Yes! Definitely! It is very easy to do once you have a practice and we not only have full tutorial videos on our website showing you in detail how to tie each style but for girls who order through the Covent Garden store we also hold styling evenings once a month where you can book to come in with your bridesmaids near to your wedding date and be shown how to tie the specific styles you like. 

Can I order swatches of the fabric? 

You can order up to 10 complimentary fabric swatches to see the colours in person here

Do the dresses require alterations? 

The simple sizing structure of our dresses means no sizing alterations are required. Should you need to change the length of your dress it simply requires a straight cut with no hemming. twobirds does not have the facility to carry out alterations but we are happy to provide details of tailors in the London area. 

I have teenage bridesmaids, can they wear the dresses? 

Our dresses start at a UK size 4 so they fit very young and slim girls and have been worn by bridesmaids as young as 8 years of age. They can choose a tying style to suit their shape and
personality and we find our bandeau tops to be popular for girls wanting a little more coverage: and of course the beauty of the dress is that they won’t outgrow it and so can wear it for years to come! 

How do I clean the dresses? 

Our Classic & Tulle dresses can be machine washed up to 30 degrees using a standard detergent, softener should not be used as it can leave marks. You may wish to put the dress in a pillow case or laundry bag for maximum protection.Hang to dry and do not iron. The dresses can also be dry cleaned and this is the recommended method for our Rosette dresses. 


TRYING ON

Where can I try the dresses? 

We have a flagship showroom in Covent Garden where you can make an appointment to come andtry our dresses, we are generally open from Monday - Saturday, 10am - 6pm with one late evening a week. Please note we do operate by appointment only. We also have a number of stockists throughout the UK & Europe, please use our store locator to find your closest here.

What if I can’t get to a stockist? 

We have the sample programme for anyone wanting to try our dresses but who can’t get to a stockist. The programme allows you to borrow a dress for a week to try at home, please see full details here.

Do all bridesmaids have to try on before ordering? 

With our beautifully simple sizing structure  and no alterations needed, our dresses don’t actually need to be tried on before ordering as they tie to fit the body. The only information we need is a girl’s dress size and height (if ordering a ballgown)  and bra size if ordering a bandeau. 

How long does an appointment last? 

Appointment times are allocated according to how many girls will be trying on and generally last between 30 mins (for one girl) - 2 hours (for very large groups). 

What if I need to cancel an appointment? 

We politely ask that you give as much notice as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. 


ORDERING 

How do I order? 

Please order your dresses from the stockist you tried on with, the price and lead time is the same regardless of where you order. If ordering through twobirds in Covent Garden, you can call or email us and we will go through the ordering process with you. 

What does the wishlist option offer?  

The wishlist is a place where you can start creating your own wedding inspiration look to then share with your fiancé or bridesmaids. Once you have decided on the look you can then add your selections to your bridal profile to begin ordering. 

How long do the dresses take to order? 

Please allow 10 weeks for delivery upon full payment for our Classic jersey dresses and 14 weeks for Tulle. We recommend you order the dresses 16 -18 weeks prior to the wedding date to allow ample time for accessorising and length alterations, should they be necessary. 

Can I get dresses in less than 10 - 14 weeks? 

We may be able to provide rush orders in under 10 weeks depending on our production schedule and fabric availability. There is an additional fee for rush orders, please enquire for more info.

Can I order the dresses separately? 

We recommend you order all dresses and bandeaus at the same time and from the same place to guarantee a colour match. If they are not ordered together they may not be cut from the same roll of fabric which can lead to colour variance. 

Can I order a single dress? 

Of course! Standard lead-times apply but we do carry a little stock so contact us here if you need a dress sooner. 

How do I pay for my order? 

All payments must be made in full before we begin production. Bank transfers and all major credit cards are accepted, for International transfers we recommend transferwise as it is the cheapest way to send money. 

Is tax included in the price? 

20% VAT is included in all prices. 

Can I change an order once it has been placed? 

If we have not started producing your order then it is possible to make changes to it but once your order has been put into production we may not be able to. Please enquire directly with the boutique you have ordered with requests to change anything. 

What are the delivery/pick up options? 

You are welcome to collect your order from our Covent Garden showroom or we can send it to you. There is a shipping and handling charge of £15 for up to four dresses using a next day signed courier service within the UK. Orders for four dresses or more are sent for free. International shipping charges apply, please enquire for further details. 

Can I return my order? 

All sales are final as all items are made to order but any faulty dresses will be replaced. For dresses with no faults there are no returns or exchanges. This does not affect your statutory rights.
